How many Nigerian’s know about the prevention drug called or Pre-exposure prophylaxis?

As a drug PrEP can stop HIV from taking hold and spreading throughout your body.

Daily PrEP reduces the risk of getting HIV from by more than 90%. Among people who inject drugs, it reduces the risk by more than 70%. Your risk of getting HIV from sex can be even lower you combine PrEP with condoms and other prevention methods.
In other words, as a drug it can serve as the last battle line against getting HIV when exposed to a high risk situation.

Studies have shown that PrEP is highly effective for preventing HIV if it is used as prescribed.
For the drug to work, it is recommended that “consistency” be applied to its administration.

It is a combination of two HIV medicines (tenofovir and emtricitabine), sold under the name Truvada® (pronounced tru vá duh), that currently approved for daily use as PrEP to help prevent an HIV-negative person from getting HIV from a sexual or injection-drug-using partner who’s positive.
As intended by this post, the whole idea is to get you informed about the availability of this drug with hope that it can help you fight the menace that HIV poses.
